For a young fella, our brewer Paul Croucher has spent many years honing and perfecting his beers. With the result being he won a brewing award in the first brewing competition he entered. Our beers reflect his talent and passion for beer, and we’re confident you will enjoy drinking them.
Croucher Brewing currently produces a core range of bottle and keg beers that include our PALE ALE, PILSNER, PATRIOT and GALAXY IPA. On top of these, we produce seasonal brews throughout the year that can only be found on tap around NZ (and sometimes Australia). Each of our beers is full of flavour that will challenge your palate, with character that will make you redefine ‘great beer’.

NEW ZEALAND PILSNER
5% alc/vol Originally Czech-inspired, our New Zealand Pilsner is a showcase of Kiwi hops. Released in January 2007. Tasting Notes: Appearance - a pale straw coloured beer. 10% wheat malt added to the grist supplies a generous clinging head. Aroma - a true lager yeast fermented at low temperatures provides the characteristic characteristics of a bohemian pilsner. Generous additions on New Zealand Motueka and Riwaka hops provide a new world twist to this ancient classic. This is a very hoppy lager. Particularly Luscious. AWARDS:

PALE ALE
5% alc/vol Tasting Notes: Appearance - A rich rose-gold hue, with good head. Aroma - Massive up front fruit with strong freshly crushed grain. Passionfruit and lychees predominate with a stonefruit undertone - fruit salad on weetbix. Grassiness from three Nelson hop varieties compliment the fruit to give an aroma reminiscent of a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc but the grunt in the palate leaves you in no doubt that this is a very serious beer. Body & Mouthfeel - Very smooth with a gorgeous lingering finish. Delicious burps. AWARDS:

PATRIOT
5.5% alc/vol This is an American Black Ale (the style is also known as Black IPA or Cascadian Dark Ale), and is a highly hopped black beer. Released 2011. Tasting Notes: Appearance - Coca-cola black, with a light brown head. Aroma - The American hops deliver oranges in the aroma, backed up with oranges, pine and a hint of chocolate in the flavour. Body & Mouthfeel - A deliciously smooth beer, striking a perfect balance between the hoppiness and smooth malt characters. AWARDS:

GALAXY IPA (New Release)
6.3% alc/vol GALAXY IPA is a highly hopped India Pale Ale, it is a showcase of the Australian Galaxy hop. Released 2012. Tasting Notes: Appearance - a light golden coloured ale, with a frothy white head. Aroma - Pineapple… big time! The trademaek flavour and aroma of galaxy is PineappleWeihenstephan Weizen yeast delivers the aroma and flavour of this very special beer. Banana and clove leaps out of this classic Bavarian style - underlined with a vanilla and a scrumptious biscuity malt character. Body & Mouthfeel - There is enough malt sweetness to carry the massive hop load, with a significant bitter finish to slap you about the cheeks and tempt you toward another! |
